Tournament Format

The MECG Deep Stack tournament is a new tournament that is designed to create a larger field and larger prize pool. This tournament will span over 5 Months at various locations throughout Chicago.

Players will have the opportunity to participate in this tournament by playing at any of the DAY 1 flights located throughout the Chicago market. These Day 1 Flights will have a maximum of 30 players** per flight and a minimum of 10 players**. We can accommodate 60 players per event and will add a second Flight at the event if needed. Players will be balanced out so as to make both Flights as close to equal as possible.

These flights will begin at the designated time for each specific location**. Flights will run until the field gets down to 25% of the total entries for that Flight, or Level 14 is completed**. If Level 14 is completed, all remaining players will advance to Day 2, even if there are more than 25% of field remaining.

Players have the option to reserve and purchase their seat online, or reserve online and pay at the door. If you registered online without prepaying you will have until 12:15 (45 minutes before the tournament starts) to check in, at which time we will begin to seat the Alternates.

All Day 1 tournaments will start at the designated time.

If you prepayed online you will have until the conclusion of the first break to arrive and be in your seat.

Any available “dead stack” will be available for purchase by a new player up until the first break. After that break players do not have an opportunity to enter the tournament until another Day 1 Flight. Once the total # of entries is compiled the MECG staff will announce how many players shall advance to day 2. Those who are not in the top 25% and are eliminated have the opportunity to re-enter on another Day 1 in a different location. At a cost of $385 to the players ($308-buyin+$77entry fee) Players will start with 15,000 in chips and have the option for an add on of $10 which will give them another 5,000 chips**.
